About

Professor Philcox has been a member of the Psychology Department on East Campus for over 15 years. He brings an extensive work history with the United States Federal Probation Office into the classroom. Forensic Psychology is among the many courses he teaches, in which students benefit from his background as both a probation officer and substance abuse educator. Among the various contributions he is known for at Valencia College, is the development of 3 student internships. Each internship is oriented towards connecting students to community organizations, such as; The Coalition for the Homeless and Florida Hospital. Underlying Professor Philcox’s teaching philosophy is the importance of bridging the gap between the classroom and “the real world.” Currently, Professor Philcox serves as the lead internship coordinator of the Psychology Department.
